Vorsteiner Takes Their BMW M2 To A Trackday

May 8, 2017 Off

The Vorsteiner BMW M2 aero package, along with their newly introduced forged wheels, have been taken to the track for a day of racing. While the California-based tuner is still keeping the full VRS M2 aero program under wraps, we again have a taste of things to come.

The Vorsteiner VRS BMW M2 program, as we know it, consists of a carbon fiber front-addon spoiler, side skirts, a rear diffuser and a rear decklid spoiler. These Vorsteiner parts are made from high-quality pre-preg carbon fiber, ensuring they are lightweight, but also strong at the same time. In addition to the visual upgrade, the parts also enhance the overall air flow, adding to the aerodynamic effect and performance of the vehicle itself.

When you take into account that the BMW M2 is powered by a 3.0-liter straight six engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, delivering 370 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, it becomes evident that some owners wish to take its exterior look to more aggressive level. With this much power available, the BMW M2 sprints from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.1 seconds. Certainly, purists will sneer at the mere idea of changing the perfectly balanced aerodynamics traits of the M2, but there’s more than enough owners that will have a desire to further accentuate its exterior looks and improve its aerodynamics performance.

Additionally, Vorsteiner added a set of their really light V-FF 106 wheels to this vehicle. These come in sizes of 20×9 in the front and 20×10.5 in the rear. Thanks to the Carbon Graphite finish – working in unison with the Mineral Gray Metallic exterior finish of the vehicle – they give quite a sporty look to the M2.
