Paul Walker’s E30 BMW M3 Listed For Sale On EbayMay 21, 2020
Walker’s passion for BMW’s M3 lineup ran very deep. He famously owned multiple examples of the collectible and extremely valuable M3.
Fans of the Hollywood smash hit Fast and Furious films lost a silver screen star when Paul Walker met his untimely end in a Porsche Carrera GT crash in 2013. Not only was Walker a staple of the franchise but he was a true gearhead’s gearhead, as well, and spent plenty of the cash he made as an actor financing an extensive car collection. After the accident, his collection sat for a while, attracting some unwanted attention before largely being sold off at auctions. And now, an E30 BMW M3 has been listed for sale on Ebay with claims to Paul Walker provenance.
Walker’s passion for BMW’s M3 lineup ran very deep. He famously owned multiple examples of the collectible and extremely valuable E36-generation M3 in Lightweight trim. But this car comes from one generation earlier, BMW’s first attempt at building an M-badged 3 Series. And the result was a smashing success, with a simple recipe combining a sweet, screaming inline-four with a lightweight body, perfect fender flares, and dialed-in suspension that makes it a nimble handler. For its time, the E30 M3 was a revelation—today, there still have been very few cars like it ever to hit the roads.
The car in question here has been listed for sale by Reserve Auto Group of The Colony, Texas. This comes only months after a January auction by Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, Arizona, that featured 21 of Walker’s former vehicles, including seven different M3 examples: five E36 Lightweights and two E30s. For context, those two cars reached a final gavel price of $220,000 and $165,000 approximately, so the current ask on this car seems reasonable at $149,980. That’s still a steep price to pay above an average E30 M3’s value, though the low odometer reading of 13,248 miles probably plays into the sum, as well.
